Part of “KAYANAPOLI”—a joint performative procession night initiated by KAYA (Kerstin Brätsch and Debo Eilers).
Procession walk from Mueso Madre to Fondazione Casa Morra uphill of the city of Naples, IT.
Max Pilger contributed performative acts, objects as well as an installation in collaboration with Pablo Schlumberger. At the starting point of the procession Pilger and Schlumberger handed out 20 to 30 sealed water bags filled up with spring water. Those were to be carried during the walk by following spectators and participants of the procession.
In advance an empty fountain system was installed at the final destination—the entrance gate of Fondazione Morra. The “death cloth fountain” installation was an assembly made of a painted shroud (450 x 300 cm) laying above a drain channel on sloping ground. Everything was set into a closed circle including a water pump. In order to activate the fountain each of the water bags were stabbed open with knives by the artists when person after person entered the gate of Casa Morra. As the fountain slowly filled up, the water started flowing and created a wet ground floating layer of water on top of the translucent shourd.
